Mikey,
You are so full of it, and like POCA's Ele Presidente says, I oughta
come around and punch you out. Maybe I oughta just send you
membership reminders every month!
Webers are not rocket science. The real problem is that the
48 IDAs are not well-suited to street use. The short runners
(ie means no low-end torque) and IDA design (the bad rap with
gas fires) were really designed for track use. Even Porsche
geeks know this. Getting them to work (and keep up with FI
units) requires wild cams, thereby reducing road-warrior
effectiveness even more.
But they can be made to work for the street, though probably offering
little gain over Holley 4bbls (except you will gain throttle
response over the slushy 750s). Sure, 4x48s will cost a lot
to implement, for marginal gain on the street, but they
look awesome. And I never heard of polished ZF cases or inlet
manifolds as a must-have option for the go-faster boyz.
OK DeRyke, where are my cross-ram runners for 4x40 DCOEs!
