Perhaps that is true in California but I'd wager it's not the case in most
parts of the country. I couldn't find a single shop in either St. Louis or
Cincinnati that could sonic test my blocks. The best I could do was
find a non-destructive lab that would do it for big $$$.
That brings up an idea I've been mulling about. Perhaps the club could
start a tool loaner or rental program? Only Pantera-specific or unusual
tools would be covered. Things like the 3/4" drive rear axle nut socket
I recently purchased. Or the torque plates Asa Jay was forced to buy.
We could lend-lease these things out to club or list members. Use a
credit card to cover the value of the tool until it's returned and if you
break it, you buy it. For expensive tools, there could be rental fees
as well. Anyone else think this is a good idea?
