I seem to have misplaced my owners manual, I may have left it at the
dealer when they installed my radiator fans a couple weeks back...
My problem for the day (it feels like I have been averaging about
one a day for a while) seems to be my drivers side window, which
doesn't seem to want to go back up. I now have a matching set - my
passenger window doesn't want to go down! I have a brass gear
coming from PPC to fix the passenger side one, that one was diagnosed
a long time ago as having a cracked gear, the drivers side
problem just appeared a couple minutes ago.
I see the voltmeter deflect when I hit the switch, telling me power is
going to the motor. My fuse is good. This leads to two questions -
where is this damn plastic gear and how do you get at it? and
somewhere I thought I heard that there was a manual backup for
rolling your windows up and down, that is what that plastic
plug serves to cover in the door. Is this true? I have the door
cover off and am looking at the guts of my door and don't see
any mechanism for manually raising or lowering the window.
I also can't (easily) see where the gear goes. Can someone give
me a 30-second lecture on how this sucker works, and what I
ought to be looking for? Thanks!
