Have you tried pulling up on the glass while hitting the switch? It may
take two people to do it. I've had my window stick down after someone leaned
on it or something, and this has always cleared it up. And yes, I have the
brass gears (now).

See the grey motor assembly in the door, attached to the window regulator?
The gear is inside there. It's a capital-b Bitch to get the damn motor
assembly out to replace the gear...

Yep. When you pull that plug, there should be a square white plastic drive
socket kind of thingie there. You press it in while turning it, and it
*very* slowly (your RPMS are no match for a motor) will raise and lower the
window. I had to use a large blade screwdriver because I don't have the
emergency window crank.
I can't remember if the hand crank still works if the gear is cracked. I
don't think it does...
BTW, the power window assembly is French. How's that for irony, Charlie? :-)
