Would i get more power ? Better cumbustion ?
No, unless something is wrong with your system now. Wouldn't last long either.
Would i get this then if i increased the sparkplug gap ?
Increasing the plug gap will work up to the point where the ignition won't
fire across the increased gap. Then you get a misfire
( Or would it be better to simply change the coil ? )
A hot coil will help a little, but you won't see any extra power unless the
present system is defective. There's no extra power over stock in the
ignition, only less than stock if something is amiss
The charcoal pice (in the distributor) would it get "eaten up" by this?
No.
...have two cars one eats distributor caps and runns alot better... and the
other runs as they usally do, and are not as hugry on caps..>>
Check the low tension coil polarity. The engine will run wired either way but
runs much better wired correctly. My best guess- J DeRyke
