To everybody:
Since cooling seems to be an on-going issue with these cars and they
tend to run hot anyway (not necessarily boiling over but in the 220-30
range) - would running them without a thermostat altogether help lower
the operating temperatures. Yes - warm up would take longer in colder
climates - but I'm talking about those who typically drive the cars
primarily during warm weather. I had several mustangs as a kid with
289's, 351W's and 351C's and ran them all without thermostats at one
time or another (during warm weather) with no apparent adverse results -
but with no overheating problems either. I suppose lower temps could
adversely effect emissions for those of you who have testing
requirements though.
Also - I had a couple of C4 vettes and they ran similar temps (220-30)
as NORMAL. So is all the fuss about running these temperatures simply
fuss or fact?
What sayist Thou - oh wise ones?
