Gerry Romack came down again for another of daves mini tech sessions. We
had two main concerns, a ticking (needs a new lifter) and Grinding in
reverse. Now just a few weeks before we did a Cluch/pressure plate R&R and
things had been fine. We measured the clutch throw and it was ok. So why
does it grind. He bought the PPC dual friction clutc disk. Has anyone
ever had the same problems with the Dual friction clutch.
Bout time for him to leave and he mentioned that it over heated one day in
traffic. So we looked at it and he still has stock fans. We also
discovered that the radiator had the correct hose fittings to lay it down.
Well, what do you think was next. We tilted the radiator, ran to Autozone
and got some sucker fans, made a shroud and wow does it run good now.
Idled for almost an hour and never got over 195 and I think he has a 190
thermostat. So it works. And we did it without modifying the ears on the
radiator.
Now for a question, How much does PPC sell their dual sucker fan kit for,
and how much would people pay if I started making one to fit stock
radiators with all parts included? HMM, how much.
