Hi All:

While all this talk on engines and such has been going on, I'd like to
mention a quick bit on Joe Fontana and his engine shop down south. I
decided to give his outfit a call and found myself talking to the man!
Interesting conversation. We got to talking about the usual stuff
regarding his Clevor alloy block so I won't go through these hackneyed
issues again but he's a very pleasant individual. Apparently, he has
sold some 80 plus engines to Gary Hall! Must be a good engine except for
now, I don't think I have the cash to warrant such a purchase (about
$3600 per new block).

Interesting aside tidbit. I wanted him to comment about a passe meeting
he had with Vic Edelbrock and the Mr. Arias, owner of Arias pistons (the
first name escapes me). A friend of mine who does circle track racing
with midgets happened to be passing by and notices "the three Chiefs"
getting into some technical conversation. Being the polite man my friend
was, he didn't stop by and listen in but he would just about have given
anything to be let on the subject they were talking about. Joe didn't
quite remember what was the topic at the time but he did remember
getting into the conversation with the other two gents.

P.S. So, how was Monterey, y'all? About the only Pantera thing I did see
a '72 for sale parked on Fremont Street near the Denny's in Monterey.
Price was too hight but the s/n was #3369. Anyone know of this car?
