as promised here is a comparison of the 460 to the cleveland for Mad Dog.

Assuming stock parts.
                                351C            460
Center of the crank to:
  Carb mounting surface;        14.5"            14"
  Top of valve cover;           13.5"            15"
  Center of water pump shaft;    7.5"             7.5"

Bell housing mount to:
  Back of head;                   .5"             .5"
  Front of head;                 20"              22"
  Back of pan depression;        12"              10"
  front of harmonic balencer;    25"              27.5"
  End of water pump;             29"              31.5"

Width at widest point:           22"              24"

Note, the 460 uses a 1" shorter pulley.

It seems that if you move the engine and trannie back 1 inch then thing
should fit without too much problem.  I would love to try it.
