Hi all,
I finally got down to my first real day of realy digging into the engine
compartment of my new Pantera. I started out with the standard stuff, plugs,
wires, cap, rotor points, etc. It really needed everything badly. The wires
were stiff as rock practically, and the plugs were extremely blunt nosed. The
points, dual points that is, were worn practically to the spring arms.
However, almost all the vacuum lines were disconnected and/or plugged with
various golf tees. The vacuum advance/retard unit only works one way, and is
very rusted up, time for a new one. The EGR appears to work, holds vacuum
anyway, but that's gonna go in the future anyway. So I ripped all the extra
vacuum switching gizmos off and hooked up the dizzy and EGR pretty much direct
for now.
Okay, onto the questions:
As reported earlier, the carb on my kitty had been replaced some years back,
here are the numbers off the Holley carb:
D8PE-9510-KA
LIST 8414
3113
What size have I got?
The engine tag reads:
351C 73-6 (Ford)
A23 KK623AG (or is it C?)
So who's got the secret squirrel decoder ring?
Oh yea, one more thing.... I now need a new backup light switch. Don't ask,
I'm sure you can figure it out. : (
Thanks for the help folks,
Asa Jay : )
