I'm probably opening myself up for a hornets nest here....
but for you guys. here goes!
While at Monterey this past weekend I had a few people get
very interested in my adaptation of the remote fan and
headlight relays and fuses. I had a design of my own, I
borrowed from the one Mike Drew published, and took some
direction on placement from goNancy (actually she threatened
me if I didn't use her location... ).
I built a unit on an aluminum mounting bracket that goes on
the vertical wall at the back of the front trunk ( boot for
the euro's) behind the battery. Once completely built,
harnessed and mounted the hookup is simple and takes less
than half an hour.
The guys who looked at it asked if I was building them for
anyone else and I told them I was only planning on building
one for Joe Lobue for time and materials and we ajourned to
the bar accross the street. The conversation came back to
this subject and we (larger group now) ended up going back
to look at the car and I was asked what it would cost to
make them a wired unit they could just mount and hookup.
Components, materials and time I figured I make one for
about hundred and a half. I left the Mariposa with checks
for 3 units and shipping wondering when I was going to have
time to make these 3 and Joe's.
I got home yesterday to find 3 more orders (and some nice
pictures one of the guys had taken of my car). So long
story short... I really don't want to get into the
manufacturing business here, but I am willing to make a
handful of these assemblies ready for plug and play
install. So if you want one, please respond privately and
I'll figure out how much of everything I'm going to need and
start making them. With my schedule, and some family issues
going on right now I cannot commit to a delivery time. But
if you want one, you'll get it.
