I'm thinking car show......
A cold snap has put a damper on the nice-day driving here in Spokane. It's
supposed to warm up for this weekend, and I certainly hope so. Shelley and
I have been driving the kitty every Friday to work (we carpool) but I don't
know about this week. Looks like rain and cold, but I'll probably drive it
tomorrow anyway.
Back to the point at hand. I know we have quite a few owners in the
Washington Oregon, Idaho area. I've seen the trouble Sam had (was it Sam?)
in trying to get some folks interested enough to travel to a show on the
East coast. So I'm thinking... hmmm, better get an early start if I want
to try the same thing in the Pacific Northwest.
Okay, so here I go. As the official POCA Greater Pacific Northwest Member
At Large, I'd like to hear from everyone in Washington, Idaho and Oregon.
Not whether you would attend an event, but rather.... what would you like
to see at an event? And further, what do you know of in our area that
would be great as an activity for an event. What kinds of sights to see do
you know of, what kinds of events take place in the summer, where are all
the race tracks, etc.
If we jump on this NOW, we might be able to pull something off next year,
in the summer months. This is currently what I'm thinking:
No more than 4 or 5 hours travel in one day. Possibly do a two or three
day tour, try to hook in an autocross or other race day if interested.
Maye hook into a couple of larger car shows, as a group. Do a "coast
tour", focusing on events over a one or two day period.
I know the space between people up here is a bit bigger and travel time is
a big issue, especially for a single day event. That's why I would propose
a two or maybe three day event. To make the travel worth while.
Anyhow. Anyone up here in this neck of the woods that could contribute to
this idea, please email me privately.
Thanks,
Asa Jay
