To All,
While visiting Mike Daileys great website, I saw the picture for the Playboy
pink Pantera given to the young lady in the early '70's. We had a thread
about that just a few weeks ago and it just so happens that I found out a few
things about it quite by accident.
I drove the Pantera to Pep Boys in Albuquerque, New Mexico and had half the
shop clear out to take a look. Two of the guys there would hardly let me go.
One of them stated he had once worked at a shop in California that prepared
a pink Pantera for a Playboy playmate of the year. They were the ones who
painted the Pantera from it's original color to pink. The shop he worked for
was called "PMS Specialties" or something along those lines (interesting
choice of letters, huh?). PMS stood for Pantera Mustang Shelby Specialties.
When I joined POCA in 1987, I seem to recall advertising in the newsletters
for a company called "PMS". Could this be the same people who prepared the
original pink Pantera?
