Thanks for the advice guys:
When I bought the car, there was no ballast resistor fitted, I had some
problems with the car stalling and running poorly, replaced the ignitor
module, marginal improvement, replaced the coil with a standard Ford one and
it has been OK since.
The instructions from Accel state that the coil shoud be fitted without a
resistor for electronic ignition, I have had other advice from friends.

I will connect the new coil with a ballast resistor, fit a new module, bring
lots of spares and hopefully we will get to Surfers Paradise.
