Erik,

You want the box with a BLUE strain relief, if it is a factory box.
Aftermarket may be other colors, but must be for a V8! There are indeed
different boxes for 4 & 6 cyls!

Re troubleshooting, there are a couple different, easy ways to trouble
shoot these things!
A later model Ford manual will do the trick! The distributor modules tend
to go bad on these guys often!!!! SImple test.... line up a lobe on the
rotor with the pickup, put the cap back on, rap the dizzy with a
screwdriver and see if you get a spark at the main coil lead! Use an old
spark plug and wire connected directly to the center postof the cap....

You can call me later tonite if ya'd like. I'm just down in Santa Clara
and have all the books handy! Have been there before! Why spend big money
when you don't need to!

The six vs seven wire thing is a ground wire thing.... Modules with
eight/nine wires have a connection to some sort of vacume switch.... don't
want that.... smog.... gaack!

Feel free to call after about 5:30.... depending wife, may have to hook up
later.... she hates that stuff cutting into "her" time.....
