Nor-Cal uses one. They fit under the roof because the easiest hookup point is
the bosses on the tranny end of the cylinder heads, not the traditional
carb-pad hookup. By fastening a loop of chain to the head bosses with bolts
and a second loop fastened to the end of the transaxle with the "tilter" in
between, one can lift the engine & trans 6-8", tilt it trans-end upward and
maneuver the whole pkg out of the engine bay using a cherry-picker crane. The
two danger points are the distributor cap to rear window, and the tranny end
to A/C condenser screen. If you're pulling the engine & trans separately, you
don't really need a tilter. My 2¢- J deRyke
