Gregg Sullivan has the Fluidyne oil-to-water unit in his Gt-5 and told me he
raised his water temp by 5 degrees (190 to 195) while lowering the oil temp
from 240 to 220, I believe. Disadvantage is, you've gotta find space for a
1-1/2 x 1 ft box with radiator hoses & big oil lines, and the wt associated.
The Hall air-oil kit, if done right, works, but seems too small to do much on
real long runs. I think its an adaption of the factory Porsche 930 oil cooler
except Porsche stick it in the rt front fender- and then you got 27 ft of
1/2" oil line to route & protect, so Gary put it in the rear. Probably not as
efficient but the hoses are short and you don't have to chop a ram-air hole
in the body either. Note that for real-racing, Porsche went to a 1 ft by 3 ft
air-oil radiator in the front air dam. What's the oil temp you're seeing on a
long run, Dan? Measured where? Cheers- J DeRyke
