DeTomaso Mailing List: October 99, Message #65

Well, I went to Central City Auto Body and picked up MORE POR 15 and the
gas tank sealer. After this is done, I'll be quite finished with the
tank. I did overspray the silver with poly-urethane. Apparently, the
silver paint that I had (which was a heat resistant paint job) had a
knack to come off a little on the fingers, even after the can was shaken
for mega amounts of time. The poly-u pretty much stopped that from
happening.

Also, I finally picked up a Sears 5.5 HP compressor. I had some tell me
that this will make lots of noise, etc. I plan on building a "sound
isolation unit" to house the compressor in (had a friend build one in
the Navy to cover over an extremely noise water pump unit that hooked up
to our ship's air search radar).

No tools from Harbor Freight yet. Found out that they take at least two
weeks to ship. I'll never make that mistake again assuming it will come
in just over a week. Lessons learned. Time to do this stuff startin'
