I think Dan's right on the rev limiter - no need to accidentally trash your
carefully built mill just 'cause you missed a shift. It's not really a
competitive advantage... unless you consider avoiding self-disassembly of
your powerplant an advantage. Besides the rev limiter won't prevent you
from mechanically over-revving you rengine if you're determined to break
it. :-)
Maybe Michael was talking about the two-stage rev limiters that the
quarter-milers seem to be using alot these days to get a consistent launch
RPM. Now those _are_ a competitive advantage (read: crutch).
