| Subject: | Update: New Engine Startup Problems |

Still not started but here is an update:
First of all thanks to all those that have helped.
I have double double double checked the distributor and it is not 180
degrees out.
I have called the engine manufacturer and they assure me that it is the
correct engine and cam.
It took me a long time to restab the distributor last night so I did not get
any cranking done however, I am going to rethink the way I am setting
initial timing.
Instead of just pointing the rotor at the number one spark plug position on
the distributor, I am going to set the motor to zero degrees and rotate the
distributor until I see the points break for number one. I will try to
crank then and let you know what happens.
BTW - the engine manufacturer thought that I must be setting the timing way
to far advanced.
