Subject:my car is darty

under hard braking. Just a quick update for those of you interested. I did a
bunch of the maintenance on my car that it needed. Rebuild calipers, new hall
master cylinder porterfield pads, rebuild clutch master and slave cylinder(no
more grinding into reverse), replaced all cooling hoses and fitted a holley 600
cfm carb to the motor, replace the plastic gears in the windows and headlights
with brass and rewired the fans as per mike drews relay mod (haven't done the
headlights yet). All of this work uncovered a few other issues, rust in the
front spoiler and a steering rack that leaks oil.

So onto my question now that the brakes are more than a suggestion, the car is
very darty under hard braking. The front darts left and right as I'm braking.
The rear feels planted so its not like I'm chasing the rear. I had Pat Mical
check the rack and he said the bushings in are in fine shape. So is this just a
bad alignment or is there something else I should check. I've put the car in
the air and check the front end for play and have not been able to feel any
(doesn't mean there isn't). So any suggestions. Today is the last day till
next season the car is on the road. So now is the time for me to pull the rack
and rebuild it. As long as I'm in there I want to fix what ever it is cause in
the spring I'm putting new tire and wheel plus an alignment into the car. Any
suggestions for alignment specs. There are ones in the manual are those good
enough?
TIA
Landis
