I would like to change the ignition switch location to a plate
mounted between the steering column and the center console,
or, in place of the bottom rocker switch, which appears to
have no function on my late 74. The point would be to replace
the fragile OEM switch with with a better quality unit, eliminate
the column lock,  have better access to the switch, and readily
available keys.

Has anyone done this? Does anyone have a source for a good
quality switch? I guess I would prefer a Ford unit, but don't
know about configuration or size, and my local dealer isn't
help.

Any thoughts?
