First off, Don, plastic gas tAnX? Hah ha. Yeah, riiiggght. Then I
wouldn't be able to blather on about POR-15.

In any event, I was able to weld onto the rocker panel the second patch
panel. Now I can see why folks like to curse about body and fender jobs.
Sometimes it is hard to get it right. But I think I finally figured the
welding part out. I even managed to determine the wire feed speed and
how it should go on the metal. Well, all I can say is that if you were
to look at the work now, some might think I might be screwing it up. But
after I finish off the work with the usual grinding and filler work (POR
stuff again), it will be sanitary. I can feel it in my bones!

So, that's how it goes. I expect to finish welding the panel all
together tomorrow and probably the corner work by next week.

BTW, I picked up a GREAT BOOK...Automobile Quarterly. I just happen to
step across a local book store's collection. I heard about this book
being sold on e-bay (and managed to get it below the cost that the
winner bidder got his). In any event, they also have a Mangusta book
too. Incidentally, this Quarterly features a Yellow Pushbutton. Looks
nice. I like the way it sits on the front cover with a blue background.
Definitely a collector's book next to my
Brookland's Book Collection, my older Wallace Wyss book about Detomasos,
and my Pantera's for the Road by Jan Norbye. Great great stuff. I just
need a few more to round out my collection now! Cal #2428r (and the "r"
is getting smaller!).
