Cal,
The weber style injectors on the Woodhouse car now owned by Ray Reynolds of
Cambria is not the Haltec portion of the system. The Haltec is the
electronic control unit and could be replaced by any number of other CPUs on
that system. The differences are two fold. The weber style individual runner
style allows some fine tuning of the torque range whereas the Projection
unit is more like a finely tuned carburetor. The Projection unit can be
controlled by Haltec as well as any of the other controllers available. The
projection unit is popular as it is an easy bolt on; the weber style
requires cutting the deck lid, messing around with linkages and balancing
just like the weber carbs it emulates. Sure looks mean and nasty though. I
do not know what Dave D has designed as a CPU. He says it is much simpler to
use than the others on the market. I know from experience that the popular
units out there are not simple to calibrate by the DIYer without exhaust gas
analyzers, etc. Maybe he is on to something.
