Mark,
The Strip Dominator is a high RPM piece. You can see one at Mike
Dailey's web site: http://www.TecTelSolutions.com/pantera/page35.htm.
The Strip Dominator is labeled as "Intake 3" for the time being. I just
sent Mike the words to go along with the pictures so the labels may
be changing soon. Also pictured there are a few more of my intake
manifolds, cylinder heads, and other parts.
Here's what Tim Tullio had to say about his Strip Dominator:
"Ok, real world thinking now. If your are looking for power below
3,000rpm, which you shouldn't be, maybe a dual plane Blue Thunder
is great. It's probably great anyhow, but lets talk real world again.
If drag racing, road racing or performance driving in your PANTERA,
you will never be below 3000 rpm, ever. What's nice about the
Dominator, it pulls/drives exceptionally well with no flat spots in the
low end. And from first hand experience, I'm talking down to 1500
rpm in 3rd gear just driving around your neighborhood, it's better than
90% off all the dual planes. Now, take it above the 3000 rpm where
you will be when you DRIVE the car, and it's as good as, or better
than, all the others. Now, put you foot into it.... WOT top end, and
it's the best still. This, to me, is exceptional performance and value.
What more could you want?"
Two things to keep in mind about this intake. First, it's fairly tall and
will require a taller engine cover screen. Second, it is an air gap design
with no provision for carb heat. That might not be a problem in sunny
SoCal but it is here in the mid-west. If you're concerned about carb
heat, the Blue Thunder might be a better choice. It's a close second in
top end power and probably has better low end performance.
