YOU DRIVE YOUR CAR ON WET ROADS? YIKES I guess us Cali drivers have it
good!

To All,
I recall being a bit freaked out when on a long distance trip in the Pantera.
Cynthia and I were traveling in Vermont and we started getting a bit of snow
(it was the end of October). Anyway, I had one of what I would call "Hammer
head" style air cleaners that the vendors sell. You know, the ones that have
the rectangular air filters exposed at each end of the air cleaner assembly.
They look like a Hammer Head shark. Well, here we were driving along at
about 60 miles an hour, the roads were wet and I look in my rear view mirror
and couldn't believe what I saw! My motor was acting like a big "Shop Vac!"
The air filters were literally sucking in all the water being sprayed up from
the road from underneath the car. I decided to continue on because I thought
I had heard a lot of seriously high performance cars used water injection!
When I got home, I removed the air cleaner immediately and went to one with a
bit more protection!
