I had the big bores for the entire 8 years that I owned my first Pantera
which was an everyday driver. With the exception of the white aluminized
coating discoloring, the constant struggle keeping the tailpipes sealed to
the headers with those donut gaskets, and that they kept getting louder over
time (I surmise the packing material deteriorated), they were fine.  Ceramic
Coating would be a solution to the first issue.  I personally loved the
sound, and donut gaskets are cheap.  I never had any weld or metal cracking
issues - I thought the quality high.
