Greetings and salutations to you all!
Oh, and best of wishes for the new year too.
On the subject of lurking, I've been lurking here for about 2 or 2.5 years
- this is probably my first post, I guess that would be some sorta record
:)
By way of introduction, I live in South Africa, 28 years old, male, design
web sites for a living, non-Pantera owner (but fan), I own an 82 Alfa
GTV6.
I maintain for a hobby a motoring-related website, at
http://www.zap.co.za/zgas
I read somewhere about a car made by Franco Sbarro in Switzerland (Franco
Sbarro of the hubless wheel fame) which was a GT40 replica, but apparently
based on the Pantera. Does anyone here have any more info on this? I
normally *detest* replicas, but Sbarro was directly involved with the Lola
T70 and if I recall correctly that was the basis for the GT40, so there is
a credible lineage there. In fact (glancing at my brochure from Sbarro),
the street version of the GT40 seems to have had his hand in it too.
Thanks guys for an entertaining forum. And Foncool, I can't agree more
about non-standard wings, skirts etc etc...
Ciao all
Zak McGregor
