I had problems shearing the distributor pin on my car. To solve the
problem I acquired a spiral pin. In other words the original pin is only a
single roll pin that joins at the ends. The replacement pin winds around
twice inside itself. I purchased them from Mallory when they were still on
their own. I think they are suppose to be spring steel not just soft
metal. I would recommend the spiral to anyone building a motor with a high
volume pump.
