Several of you asked wot difference each of the available ring gears
produce... I can vouch for the accuracy of the calculations for both the
stock 4.22 and 3.77 gears. . .so I'll assume for this exercise that the 3.56
gear will produce similar numbers "ASSUMING" you have the power to push the
car....The calculations were done by Cary Foster and are based on having a
27" diameter tire...If your running a 26 or 26.5 diameter tire your RPM
speeds will increase thereby "decreasing" your top speeds. . .
Equations for car speeds boil down to the followed simplified equations:
4.22 RING & PINION
RPM = .027
7,407RPM=200MPH
6666RPM=180MPH
5926RPM=160MPH
3.77 RING & PINION
RPM= .030
6623RPM=200MPH
6000RPM=180MPH
5333RPM=160MPH
3.56 RING & PINION
RPM=.032
6250RPM=200MPH
5625RPM=180MPH
5000RPM=160MPH
Keep Marino Perna of Pantera East in mind <PANTERAEAST@HOTMAIL.COM> if your
interested in a new gear. . .He indicated a few weeks ago he was interested
in making up some 3.77 ring gears.
Good Luck
