I think you need the MSD tach adapter #8910 for ANY MSD setup. Be very
careful of billet distributors. Not only are they far more than most street
machines need, the diameter of the unit with its large cap is so big, it can
hit the firewall. Steve Mooney had one such, and on his '71, the cap hit the
firewall on acceleration as the engine shifted a tiny bit, cocked sideways a
little, broke the rotor and instantly killed the engine. This happened after
a multi-thousand dollar rebuild, when leaving the Church on his wedding
day.... his brand new wife was not enthralled to have her wedding reception
delayed while a tow-truck dragged Steve's car home! Trouble-shooting an
engine failure is difficult in a tux, and MSD rotors are not found at
