Let's not get too crazy about the styling of the new Mangusta. Sure it
doesn't look like the old one, it's a "new" one. Thanks the gods that we
have the freedom of choice and that one man's meat is another's poison. The
car has just been introduced, let's see how it turns out. Twenty five
years from now, someone will introduce a new model and every one who likes
the 2000 Mangusta style will then deride the current "abortion" as falling
too far from the tree, (just as some current Detomaso lovers are doing that
very thing today). Let's all be thankful that someone was willing to take
the risk and re-introduce the Mangusta at all. This can do nothing but
improve the overall perception of DeTomaso etal. The Qvales have dropped
some major bucks into this program, not the least is the huge experiment in
the Trans-Am racing team. (Do you think Brian Simo came cheap?) IMHO we
should all be glad that the DeTomaso name has gotten a new lease on life, as
well as a new style, and help the program out as much as we can. We will
receive a lot in return from a succesful re-introduction of the Mangusta.
