The "black blocks" definitely started with a smaller distributor hole. They
also have bulges on the sides between the core plugs. If there are any
other differences they are internal and I didn't notice them when I went
through my block a few years back. I have one of these and I believe a
whole bunch of people just took shipment of these a few (possible 10) months
ago.
