Subject:RE: NEED ADVICE FOR REMOVAL OF HEADLIGHT MOTOR/GEAR REPLACEMENT.
Date: Mon, 6 Mar 2000 13:04:17 -0500

	All,

I need to know specifics on removal/fixing the headlight
gear/mechanism that raises and lowers the headlights. Some time ago I found
out that my headlight mechanism was "bound up" rather than the motor or
other electricals burned out. I started to take it apart, pulled the bolts
out on the side that hold the motor and such and pulled the cotter pin for
the hand crank knob out as well as knob. But still the whole mechanism
seems very tight so I am afraid to force it in fear of breaking something
that might be expensive to replace (or made of Pantera unobtaneum).

So since I have never done this particular chore on a Panetera
before I appreciate any step by step advice. Thanks in advance to the "gear
heads" out there for your help.
