Asa Jay,
For what it's worth, I had my GTS headers coated in March 1998 by
Airborne in Oklahoma. It looked like they did a pretty damned good
job considering how bad they looked when I sent them to them...
However, the right side header cracked bigtime in about three places
six months or so ago. So badly that it was said to be unrepairable by
everyone I took it to. So I bought a new one.
Sunday I pulled the left side thinking I had a gasket leak and found
instead that the tube for #7 was just about cracked all the way
around. There's only 10% or so holding it together! Plus I found
another crack all the way along a weld near the collector.
So, another new one is on the way from PPC.
Sure makes me wonder whether I should have left them alone or not...
They worked great for 14 years and no sooner than I get done coating
them and they start cracking badly.
I'd buy new ones based on my recent experience...
FWIW,
Kirby
