Subject:Stainless Steel Exhaust Update.
Date: Thu, 2 Mar 2000 23:39:59 -0500

Kinda Bad news the new stainless steel exhaust I had Quicksilver make just
didnt fit and it was going to take a lot of realignment and fitment to make
them work. I was very pleased with workmanship and the quality of material
used. However, in additon to the fittment problems there were some design
perameters that were not followed by Quicksilver even though a couple of
them were a little picky on my part. I feel I expended a great deal of time
and effort detailing exactly what I wanted them to look like with a quieter
exhaust note than my stock GTS mufflers. So, after many calls to London and
E-mails with pictures and more diagrams, I am going to hate to see my phone
bill next month, Quicksilver agreed to refabricate the mufflers to look more
like the orginal Ansa exhausts more flat on the top and bottom with rounded
sides so as to look better in the roll pan openings, with the muffler can
seams facing and hidden toward the engine or midline of the car and position
the tips so they are not spaced so far apart . We agreed they will send me
a set of muffers, unattached bent exhaust pipes and flanges so I can custom
fit the the exhaust to my car, after which I am going to make a styrafoam
mold for them for future use. So off in the mail they went today, gees is
sending 41 pounds of steel to London expensive. I will keep you all up to
date with the project. Seems like trying to do something different can cost
a lot of money and cause a lot of fustraition, hopefuly it will pay off and
I am not polishing a turd to quote the wise and knowlegable Mike Drew.
