Greg,
When I was painting ZONKEY last year (
http://home.earthlink.net/~rbarkley/Pantera ) I decided to use PPG
(Ditzler) and wanted to use their BC/CC system. They do not have a
"formula" for the original in ANY of their paint lines. They said that I
could take a sample to one of their "Profit Centers" where I think they
have computerized matching equipment. I, after much hand wringing,
decided to go with their toning base DBC #666 (devil's yellow?). It's
called "light chrome yellow" if I remember. Being a straight toning base
(no other pigments added by the shop) it should be very consistent and
should match out of the can if I need to patch it later. It's just a
little brighter and less green than my original ('71) yellow. I'm very
happy with it.
