Hi all,

I hope this goes through, I've not seen any messages all day from the
list.

Got into the brake job on the Pantera today. Bad news. I have the nice
rebuilt parts from Rick Moseley, bless his heart, but I found my front
brake pads are so shot, there is no way to re-use them. As I suspected,
due to the left front grabbing so bad, it's overheated, and stressed the
pads, badly cracked, glazed, etc. We took some sandpaper to them and
they just started to disintegrate. Bottom line, I need new pads... and
I'm out at my shop.

I called Napa, and even with the stock parts interchange information, we
failed to make a match over the phone. They are willing to work with me
if I bring in the pads, but I'm not confident.

Next course of action will be to order some up from a vendor pronto.

The good news is, I found out how to take the knob off the turn signal
lever, just pop the silver button out, fixed up the used unit Mike Drew
sent me and I now have turn signals and headlights. I also used the new
headlamp switch I got from (oh I forget now, he's lurker on the list and
has some great parts). Anyway, thing are looking up, but I need brake
pads really bad.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Asa Jay
