You got lucky, believe it or not. The trick-of-the-month a few years ago was
to add a 2V intake to 4V heads. The effect is the same as adding port-plates.
"The effect on a fully built engine's low end is astounding", to quote one
owner. "Note the engine will fall flat on its face at 5200, but face it- how
often do you go there and how long do you stay?" There's not really enough
material around the 2V intake ports to match up to the 4V heads; all you can
possibly do is foul up the anti-reversion step that now exists, so you lose
the bottom end boost too. Borrow a 4V intake & compare them at real-world
driving before you throw away what already works well.
