Just remind him that some Panteras are quite a bit different than others.  I've seen tires that clear on a 74, but hit on a 71.  Seems in particular that the earlier cars are subject to some "manufacturing tolerances".

I just heard back from Luke at the Tire Rack. He has been waiting to measure
a P-car in there shop for a couple of months now. Apparently they are still
having a bit of winter back there with snow expected this evening. Luke told
me that when the weather brakes, he will be able to get the car fitted and
