Okay so far thanks for all the suggestions.

Maybe miss is not correct. It runs really rough at idle and SEEMs to smooth
out at speed. Pulling the plugs on 1 and 5 make a noticeable difference at
idle. pulling 2 or 6 less difference, pulling 3 and 7 even less difference
and pulling 4 and 8 no difference.

It is not car as I have tried 3 different carbs.
It is not spark as I have tried two sets of wires, numerous sets of plugs
three distributors three caps four rotors.
It is not coil, I have tried 3 coils.
It is not the heads as I have tried two sets of heads.
I do not think it is the intake as in vacuum leak as I have tried two
intakes and have had them off numerous times with the same result.
It is not any vacuum accessory as I have used brass plugs to seal the
manifold with the same result.

I have replace everything except the short block.

I need a way to test by measuring the cam and or crank.

I may try a cam just because I can do it cheaper but I feel like I am
bleeding money here.

Any other suggestions appreciated.
