The Plaza Hotel

Pam and I attended annual Las Vegas POCA meet for the first time last week.
We were a little apprehensive about staying at the Union Plaza Hotel because
of comments from attendees who had negative comments about the
accommodations.  We were please to find that though a little dated, the
Union Plaza, is a perfect place in Vegas for POCA to meet given the "car
friendly" atmosphere, friendly staff and comfortable accommodations.  If Pam
and I were on vacation we would probably stay somewhere else in Las Vegas,
but for the purpose of attending the POCA meet, the hotel was great.  The
Fremont Street location was fantastic as a venue for displaying Panteras at
their best.

We stayed in a two-room suite on the 21st floor with a view of Fremont
Street and found the room large, clean and very comfortable.  According to
Pam, the room passed the most important test - hot water and good water
pressure with two separate bathrooms!  The dining room was great, especially
at night during the hourly light show and the slots pay well too.  (Pam won
a jackpot on the last day that paid for her entertainment for the trip.)

The POCA Hospitality Suite

The POCA Hospitality Suite was a great place to meet everyone and have a
good time getting acquainted.   It was fun to meet people face-to-face with
whom I've been corresponding on the Internet for the last two years.
Alcohol, soft drinks and snacks were available all day and into the night
and although some overindulged, most were just having a good time talking
cars.  Many people in the group have known each other for years, but were
very friendly to new comers like Pam and I.   We had fun and will go again
in the future.
