[5-May-2000-11h00 CET] - Its 11h00 in Spain,
the weather is overcast and cloudy, the air is at 18C and the
track surface 19C. The first 60 minute part of todays first
Free Practise session for the Grand Prix of Spain is just starting.
In the first 15 minutes: everyone except H.Frentzen and the
two Ferrari cars make a pit-to-pit lap to check everything
works, G.Mazzacane sets the first fast lap at 1m 26.973s-3Laps,
M.Salo takes 1st at 1m 25.388s-5L.
At the 15 minutes point the top 6 were just 2:
M.Salo 1m 25.388s 6 laps
G.Mazzacane 1m 26.887s 5 laps
In the next 15 minutes: J.Villeneuve takes 3rd at 1m 41.134s-3L,
N.Heidfeld takes 1st at 1m 25.216s-4L, P.Diniz takes 1st at
1m 25.029s-4L, P.Diniz improves 1st to 1m 24.732s-5L, J.Alesi
runs wide, spins over the grass and rejoins, he then spins again
at the next corner, J.Verstappen takes 1st at 1m 24.510s-4L,
R.Zonta takes 3rd at 1m 24.981s-5L.
At the 30 minute point the top 6 were:
J.Verstappen 1m 24.510s 5 laps
P.Diniz 1m 24.732s 5 laps

track, M.Schumacher takes 1st at 1m 22.213s-3L, M.Schumacher
improves 1st to 1m 21.982s-4L, M.Hakkinen takes 2nd at
1m 23.282s-4L, R.Barrichello takes 2nd at 1m 22.549s-3L, J.Alesi
goes wide through the gravel, by now only H.Frentzen has not
driven, J.Trulli and D.Coulthard have driven but not completed
a fast lap.

with some sunshine, the air is at 22C and the track surface 23C. The
second 60 minute part of todays first Free Practise session for the
Grand Prix of Spain is just starting.
In the first 15 minutes: J.Villeneuve is the first on track followed
by J.Alesi, M.Hakkinen is also on track in the first few minutes,
M.Hakkinen improves 3rd to 1m 23.266s-8Laps, D.Coulthard takes 3rd
at 1m 22.651s-4L, R.Barrichello takes to the track, Spanish driver
P.de la Rosa runs wide through the gravel and hits the tyre wall.
At the 15 minute point the two Jordan cars are the only ones not to
have set a time. The top 6 are:
M.Schumacher 1m 21.982s 4 laps
R.Barrichello 1m 22.549s 9 laps
D.Coulthard 1m 22.651s 5 laps
M.Hakkinen 1m 23.266s 9 laps

In the next 15 minutes: J.Trulli puts in his first fast lap and
takes 3rd at 1m 22.582s-4L, M.Schumacher runs a few laps without
improvement, G.Fisichella spins off into the gravel and retires.

now has a lap time, J.Button takes 6th at 1m 23.119s-29L, G.Mazzacane
retires on track in the final few seconds.
