One problem with Lambos and Maseratis, to my understanding, is that it is
difficult to find a mechanic who knows what he is doing. This is probably
especially true of the carburated cars. If that car was running as well as
the best Lambo mechanic the owner can find can make it run, then to my mind
it would have been a fair race. Cars which are theoretically fast but in
reality are always out of tune are not much fun.

I'm really interested in checking out the results of the test. Re your Miura
sighting: that would've been a hoot if you were able to engage that "bull" in
a road battle with your Pantera. But then again, with that popping and
sputtering, might have been a mechanical problem that wouldn't make the "race"
fair. O.k. looking for your comments. Cal. #2428.
