All,
I received so many responses regarding this subject, negative and
positive, that I hope you don't mind that I use the list to reply to you
all!
First, I would point out that my numbers are not the final word in
this matter.
They represent the 'ballpark' starting point for my car, and may be
further adjusted as experience suggests.
However, after extensive track time this friday (over 100 miles) I
am extremely happy with the way the car performed.
this setup helps the front turn, and does exaggerate the 'throttle
off' induced over steer, but when flat out around a turn, and turning
the steering wheel no longer has an effect on your turn radius, you will
be glad of the enhanced throttle steering sensitivity this permits.
this is the setup used:
left
right
front caster +3.64 +3.92
front camber -0.84 -0.68
front toe -3/32 -3/32
-3/16 total
rear camber -1.4 -1.36
rear toe +1/16 +1/16
+1/8 total
thrust angle 0.00
IMHO persons advocating a front toe in setup usually are traveling
close to 200 mph or more. When they talk about ' tucking' and 'darting'
because of toe out, I have yet to experience what they are referring
to.
BTW I gave numerous test rides to passengers on the track, and 99% of
them made some positive remark about the ride or handling of the car!
flame away.....
John P ( I don't care what anyone says, I like the way my car feels! )
