John et al,
I just got back from an RMVR event at Second Creek Raceway in Denver this
weekend, in lieu of Vegas. I found my car pushed a bit especially in tight,
low speed turns, with an impression similar to yours that turning-in more had
little effect. In higher speed sweepers, though, it was neutral and very
controllable, especially with throttle on. Didn't feel much throttle off
oversteer. Here's my suspension setup, subject to change:
Front Left Right
Camber -0.9 -1.0 Most negative I could get
Caster 2.6 2.9 Most I could get
Toe 1/16 1/16
Rear
Camber -1.2 -1.1
Toe 0 0
Thrust angle -0.03
I found tire pressure in my R1s had a great effect. My first run was set at
21F, 23R, and the car was very difficult to control. 21/21 was better, but
23F/21R made it more neutral. Suggestions welcome!!! Jeff Garvin
