Hi Gang,

I just wanted to let you know what happened to a friend of mine yesterday. He took his GT5-S conversion out for its maiden voyage, after a long three year restoration. One of the upgrades he added was the front end lift kit that Hall sells. It comes with a mini air compressor and two air cylinders that will lift the front of the car three inches when activated. He tried it a few times in his garage and it worked great.
On his way home he turned on the compressor and drove up into his steep driveway. Then he went to pull into his garage and nearly ripped the front air dam off the car. The lift kit did not work for some reason and he damaged his beautiful car. But this is not the really dangerous part. The reason the lift kit did not work that time is because the air cylinder blew out, spraying some sort of oil all over his brake caliper, rotor, wheel, tire, and driveway. It was a big mess!! He is planning on opening the cylinder up today to take a look at it. We aren't sure why there was oil in the system as it works on air. If this had happened on the highway it could have been deadly.

FyI,
KidP
