Nice response, Mike...One other point that you all have to remember is...This
is how POCA makes it's money from the event. POCA receives about 58 cents per
night/per room....Not dollars...Cents. Not a whole buch of cash. So, we have
to charge for entry into the hospitality suite to cover ALL other expenses
that are incurred, which includes all beverages, hospitality and Ballroom
rental, Karaoke, Sat Night Dinner, bartender and GUARD salaries, which
includes the guard who is in the parking lot!
Also, I want you to remember that all of the POCA members
that help with this huge undertaking, do it on a strictly VOLUNTEER
basis...No one gets anything.
So in conclusion, that is the reason that the guard was so adamant about not
letting anyone in without an "Event Button" As Mike said, he was following
POCA's rules, and at that point, POCA was paying his wages.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to "E" mail me, and I can further
explain how it works....
Regards....Gary Roys one of the Event Co-ordinator's, along with my wife
Cindy, and of course Kent and Sandi Snyder and Bob and Carol Reid.
