Just got in and want to post the results. First the Team finished all
cars except for the Mangusta(vapor lock is the rumor)
It was as usual a great time and had 220 cars that were all set off like
clockwork. The disappointment is that for the first time Team Pantera got
no top 3 finishes. A couple things going on here, more competition and
more (%$#&^@#$%) technology. Everyone has lap top computers and Global
Positioning units.I Hated fuel injection and MSD ignitions and now this.
Curt Toumanian is thinking of a computer program that links the gas pedal
to a lap top that is linked to GPS. Damn them, if thats what it takes.
And if I see one more brand new Viper or Corvette I'm gonna puke, 80
Corvettes and 14 Vipers.
Results
140 mph Bob Wood 8th 1973 Pantera

Melvin Verhein made a great showing, first Mangusta at SS.
95 mph Rebecca Sullivan 5th place 1996 Impala SS (Whats a Team Pantera
member doing in a Chevvy?)

Special thanks to everyone for a great time. Greg Sullivan brought the
Team Pantera Catering rig again with great food and a first class set up.
All the other teams just envy this party,Paul Timko came from Chicago to
assist. Greg also offered to pay entry fees for a win, obviously he got
off cheap.

To everyone, you owe it yourselves to come out and try this event. There
are few chances to really appreciate how well these cars really run at
speed.

PS. I ran oil temp of 300+ the entire way and Mobil 1 had no problems
with the heat.

72 Pantera 65 Sunbeam Tiger 00 Mercedes CLK430
