Hi All:
I just got word back from the driveline guy. He says that the halfshafts
are effectively trashed. Someone before me tried fitting other than
Spicer u-joints by machining the shafts. Apparently it was a bad fit. In
any event, I do have a set of stock axles on standby (I purchased them
just in case something didn't pan out. Lucky me.). Now that I put all that
hard work into repairing the half shaft damage on #2428, I don't want to
have to do it all over again (that was a bit of *&$^&$&^% work!). 

I know one could retrofit Toyota truck u-joints  (with minor or no mods).
But the question remains: how much horse/torque will the stock half-shafts
(appropriately modded) take? Thanks. Cal. #2428.
